The base level L trim was eliminated. There were no other significant changes for 2022.

Performance

The Malibu comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. If you need more power, you can choose an optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (Premier trim) that produces 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Both engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

No matter which engine you select, you’ll love how smoothly the Malibu accelerates. It also has an auto stop/start system that shuts off the engine when you apply the brakes. Auto stop/start helps with fuel economy, so the vehicle doesn’t use unnecessary fuel while idling.

Spacious Interior

The Chevy Malibu is an excellent choice for families. It has plenty of legroom and can seat five people comfortably. The trunk is large enough to hold all your gear, so you won’t have to make multiple trips when stocking up on groceries and supplies.

Black or gray cloth upholstery is standard, but you can upgrade to jet black or wheat-colored leather. Optional features include a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and eight-way power-adjustable seats. You’ll also appreciate how quiet these vehicles run because they’re equipped with Active Noise Cancellation that reduces outside noise. The Malibu comes with triple-sealed doors, and an optional acoustic laminated windshield is also available.

Midnight Edition

The 2022 Malibu Midnight Edition is a beautiful car with a sleek, sporty exterior and interior. The Midnight Edition is available in all-black, and it features a blacked-out grille, halogen headlights, 19-inch black-painted wheels, and black bowtie emblems. The Midnight Edition also comes with jet black upholstery.  

Safety

The Malibu has excellent safety features, including forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control. The forward collision warning system alerts the driver if traveling too close to another vehicle. Adaptive cruise control allows you to set a speed and have a safe distance automatically maintained by your car. You don’t have to worry about speeding up or slowing down because the system will maintain adequate space between your car and other vehicles.

Technology

The Malibu has an 8″ diagonal color touch screen that lets you easily access the vehicle’s infotainment features. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you can connect your phone, play music, or make calls. With Alexa built-in, you can also use your voice to unlock and lock your doors and control your smart home devices while you’re on the road!
