Are you in the market for a mid-size pickup truck? Are you on the fence regarding off-roading? Do you wish you could tow over three tons but get good fuel economy and great maneuverability? If so, you have to keep reading to learn more about the 2022 Chevy Colorado.

Basics About the 2022 Chevy Colorado

The 2022 Colorado is the ideal truck for most needs. It is just as versatile as a traditional pickup truck, providing an impressive towing capacity and seating for four or five. However, drivers will note that this powerful truck is far more nimble than half-ton pickup trucks, making it ideal for people who want or need to drive in the city on a regular basis.

How Fuel Efficient Is This Truck?

One of the greatest things about this mid-size pickup truck is that it is incredibly fuel-efficient despite being able to tow an impressive 7,000 pounds. The cab and powertrain affect how fuel-efficient this truck is. However, you shouldn’t be surprised if you get, according to the EPA, 23 combined city and highway miles with an estimated 20 miles per gallon in the city and 30 miles per gallon on the highway.

Note, you can expect to get 23 miles per gallon combined if you opt for an automatic 6-speed transmission and a four-cylinder, 2.8L turbo diesel motor. If, for example, you opted for a six-cylinder, 3.6L gas motor with an automatic eight-speed transmission, you could expect to get 17 miles per gallon combined. On the highway with such a powertrain, you could expect 18 miles per gallon. You could expect 16 miles per gallon in the city.

What Driver-Assistance Features Can I Expect?

There are a number of driver-assistance features integrated into this mid-size pickup truck to make driving much safer. For example, rear parking sensors will help you back into parking spaces, and lane-departure warning will mitigate the risk of an accident significantly.

How the 2022 Colorado Differs From the 2021 Chevy Colorado

This year’s Chevy Colorado does not differ much from the 2021 Chevy Colorado. However, you can add a dealer-installed Trail Boss package. If you’d prefer an LT or Z71 over a ZR2, but you still want to go off-roading, the Trail Boss package is definitely for you. If you opt for this package, the suspension will be an impressive full inch higher, and you can find skid plates along the front and middle of your truck’s underbelly. Other features include:

  • 17″ rims
  • An omitted front air dam
  • Black exterior badges
  • Red tow hooks

The 2022 Colorado looks almost identical to the 2021 Chevy Colorado, but there was a notable change made this year. You can now opt for a dealer-installed Trail Boss package, so you can go off-roading in an LT or Z71 safely.
