Four different trims levels ensure you can choose the Colorado that's right for you. These include the ZR2, Z71, LT, and WT. No matter which trim you choose, the Colorado has a durable, boxed frame. The pickup gets a more mature, heftier look than in previous years, with an aggressive front design, wider all-terrain tires, and a sleek, wide dashboard. Square wheel arches and a blacked-out grille featuring Chevrolet's signature logo also add to the truck's handsome, rugged appearance. Standard features include automatic projector headlights, body-colored side mirrors, 17-inch alloy all-terrain tires, and a rear bumper with a corner step. With the Z71's Trail Boss Package, you can add a variety of equipment, including red tow-hooks, black Colorado emblems and tailgate letters, and front and mid-frame skid plates.

The Colorado offers a choice of three engines to appeal to just about anyone. A standard 2.5 four-cylinder engine produces 200 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque, while an available 3.6-liter V-6 churns out 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque. The standard engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while the 3.6-liter engine gets an eight-speed automatic transmission. For extra towing capacity, and off-road trekking, a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine is also available, producing 181-horsepower and an impressive 369 pound-feet of torque.

Drivetrain options for the Colorado include a rear-wheel-drive or four-wheel drive on every trim, with the exception of the ZR2. The ZR2 features electronic locking differentials on both axles to provide additional traction in case the truck becomes stuck. Handling is smooth and precise, and a towing capacity of 7,000 pounds with the V-8 and a whopping 7,700 with the turbo-diesel engine gives the Colorado an extra edge.

The Colorado's simple, ergonomic layout allows for the additional visibility that the truck often lacked in earlier years. The front seats are comfortable and provide plenty of support. A long bin in the center console provides plenty of extra storage space, along with the huge compartment under the crew cab's rear seat. A number of infotainment features ensure passengers have plenty of entertainment. The base WT trim offers a six-speaker sound system and a 7-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming for two devices and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. Other trims have an 8-inch screen with responsive touch functions. A seven-speaker sound system, built-in navigation, and additional USB ports are also available.
