Introducing the 2024 Chevy Silverado 1500

Engine and Transmission

The Silverado 1500’s TurboMax™ engine grants the base model 310 horsepower at 5,600 RPM and 430 lb-ft of torque at 3,000 RPM. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The available 5.3-liter EcoTec3 eight-cylinder engine is available on the WT, RST, LT, LT Trail Boss, and Custom Trail Boss models. This engine is a standard feature on the LTZ and High Country trims and offers 355 horsepower with 383 lb-ft of torque.

There is an even more powerful 6.2-liter EcoTec engine available with the LT Trail Boss and ZR2 trims. This engine offers 420 horsepower, 460 lb-ft of torque, and a ten-speed auto transmission.

Suspension, Brakes, and Stability

Each model in the 2024 Silverado 1500 lineup has four-wheel antilock disc brakes with Duralife brake rotors and ferritic nitro-carburizing coating. The intelligent Automatic Emergency Braking is standard on all 2024 Silverado 1500s aside from the High Country, and all brake pads on every model have built-in wear indicators.

The newest Silverado 1500’s electronic stability control system includes Trailer Sway Control, traction control, Hill Start Assist, and Brake Assist. The Silverado’s truckbed is made with durable high-strength steel and the truck’s body sits on a fully-boxed frame made with the same high-strength steel. This frame is crafted to increase the truck’s rigidity and sturdiness and features a hydroformed front section.
