2023 Chevrolet Suburban

The entry-level Suburban is the LS. It comes with 18-inch wheels and LED headlights. The LT adds to this with a hands-free liftgate. Choose the sporty RST, and you'll get 22-inch wheels, black exterior trim elements, and an upgraded front fascia, while the Z71 has 20-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, black and dark chrome exterior trim, a front-skid plate, and tow hooks. Step up to the Premier for magnetically controlled shocks, or choose the High Country for a unique grille with bronze accents.

The base engine for the 2023 Suburban is a 5.3-liter V-8 that puts out 355 horsepower. It works with a 10-speed automatic transmission, and you can get four-wheel drive with any trim. A 6.2-liter V-8 with 420 horsepower is standard for the High Country and an option for the RST, Z71, and Premier, or you can opt for a 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine for any trim except the Z71.

The ride in the Suburban is smooth and comfortable. Any of the engine choices have plenty of power to propel the large SUV quickly up to speed. The comfort level rises in the trims with magnetic ride control, and it gets even better with the available adaptive air suspension for the Z71 and High Country. When equipped with the tow package, it can pull up to 8,300 pounds.

There's room for up to nine in a Suburban with a front bench seat and two rear bench seats, but most come with front bucket seats and room for eight. Behind the third row, you'll find a 41.5 cubic foot cargo area, and this expands up to 144.7 cubic feet with both back rows folded down. Tri-zone automatic climate control comes standard, and moving up through the lineup adds heated seats, driver's seat memory settings, a power-folding third row, and ventilated front seats. Technology features in the Suburban start with an 8-inch touch screen, a six-speaker stereo system, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10.2-inch touch screen display comes in the LT and above, and the LT also gets a nine-speaker Bose stereo system and wireless charging.

Every 2023 Suburban comes with forward collision warning with mitigation, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and front and rear parking sensors. The Premier adds a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alert, and the High Country has a rear pedestrian alert system. Adaptive cruise control is an available option, and you can also get the Super Cruise hands-free driving system in the two highest trims.
