You have three trim levels to choose from, and each contains its own unique set of features: Preferred, Select, and Essence. A choice of two turbocharged three-cylinder engines ensures you can find the Encore GX that best matches your needs. The turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine produces 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The slightly more powerful turbocharged 1.3-liter three-cylinder is standard on the Essence trim and optional on the Select trim and produces 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque. Both engines pair with a continuously variable automatic transmission, and the 1.3-liter engine pairs with a nine-speed automatic transmission on the all-wheel-drive models.

Higher trims allow you to choose between front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and with smaller dimensions, the Encore GX is easy to maneuver. The handling is especially smooth and agile, quickly adjusting to different speeds and driving conditions. Great stability and traction also make it easier to navigate a variety of terrains and weather conditions.

The Encore GX has a roomy, well-equipped cabin. 50.2 cubic feet of cargo space means there's still plenty of space to fit groceries, luggage, backpacks, and other equipment. The SUV's two rows of seats comfortably accommodate five passengers with plenty of extra room to spare. Available leather-trimmed seats give the Encore GX more of a luxury feel, and a 10-way power-adjustable driver's seat ensures you'll be more comfortable as you sit in traffic. An intuitive 8-inch infotainment touchscreen comes standard with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities.
